Stomatitis
Mouth inflammation is known as stomatitis or stomatopathy This can be caused by poor oral hygiene, burns due to the consumption of hot fluid or food, medications, allergic reactions or infections. Causes of Mouth Ulcers
According to Ayurveda, ulcers are caused by the heat generated due to an aggravated pitta dosha. So, the first step to pacify pitta is to adopt a diet that doesn’t aggravate this dosha. Types of stomatitis and stomatopathy according to Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, stomatitis is divided into five different types, depending on the disturbed Dosha causing the symptoms. Below is a brief description of each type together with the specific treatment.
In the type of “Vataja” stomatitis has severe pain, cracking of the tongue and intolerance to cold food. (Five salts) and medicated oils are used for topical application.
