Nadi Pariksha
Nadi Pariksha is an ancient Ayurvedic technique of diagnosis through the pulse. It can accurately diagnose physical, mental and emotional imbalances as well as diseases. It is a non- invasive science that enables to reach the root cause of health issues and not just address the symptoms. The time tested and age-old natural way of healing, Ayurveda, has taught that any presence of disease in our system will be indicated as an imbalance in our ‘doshas’. The key to cure and keep our body in good health is to balance the doshas and bring back balance to the body system. The principles of Ayurveda follow the natural way to diagnose diseases and bring back balance to the body. Pulse diagnosis was initially identified in the 13th century highlighting the correlation between Nadi and Tridosha. However, Nadi Pariksha gained its significance during the 17th century. It gives a deep insight into a patient’s body type (prakruti, classified under vata/ pitta/ kapha) and the various imbalances (vikruti) in the body and mind. It provides a holistic solution based on the person’s prakruti/ vikruti and prescribes corrective lifestyle, diet, and wellness supplements. At our clinic, Nadi Pariksha is performed on the precise location of the wrist, at the radial artery, using the index, middle & ring fingers corresponding to Vata, pitta, and Kapha respectively. These signals are obtained from the contraction and relaxation of blood vessels and the blood flow through the artery. Nadi Vaidya (Doctor) feels the Specific Movement(Laya), Speed(Gati), and Pattern of Movements in the artery and according to it, he can diagnose changes in the human body regarding tridoshas and sapta dhatus. Nadi Vaidya can diagnose the accurate and root cause of the patient’s symptoms and forewarn the patient about potential health risks.
